Summary of Position and Responsibilities:
The Retail Engagement Specialist is responsible for delivering on exceptional customer service in the day- to-day activities of the retail engagement department. 

 

Specific Duties and Function:

  • Assist in driving the Registration Department’s operational strategic goals.
  • Maintain retail database, including but not limited to, pulling retail lists keeping it updated and accurate at all times.
  • Work with Marketing to initiate and implement the Buyer Relations marketing schedule including all necessary eblast campaigns and mailings.
  • Manage registration calls and emails in a timely, proficient manner, providing stellar customer service.
  • Proactively source new retailer prospects.
  • Possess high level of proficiency in juggling multiple tasks under tight, immovable deadlines.
  • Conduct training of hired third party registration staff for the shows.
  • Execute all aspects of Toronto and Alberta Gift & Home Market on site show registration procedures and activities.
  • Process post show reports.
  • Professionally and effectively address registration issues of concern.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate a stellar level of customer service.
  • Must be a hard-working, organized, pro-active self-starter.
  • Highly organized, demonstrate strong attention to detail and be capable of managing multiple tasks, deadlines, projects and resources efficiently.
  • Possess an understanding of the contemporary retail environment.
  • Must be able to work independently and with equal ease, be a collaborative team player with a high degree of initiative, drive, accountability, judgment and flexibility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and editing skills.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and experience working with database and contact management software/programs.
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours during trade show events twice a year: includes weekends, early morning and late night meetings, events and functions.

 

Training and or Experience:

  • Minimum of four years of customer service in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience in a trade or consumer show.
  • Working in a related retail industry is an asset.
  • French as a second language, both oral and written, would be an asset.

Summary

The Show Co-ordinator is responsible for the successful execution of the day-to-day administrative activities of the Toronto and Alberta Gift & Home Market shows while delivering above and beyond service to all stakeholders.   


Specific Duties and Function:

  •  Responsible for managing all administrative, communication and marketing aspects of the show’s critical path with exhibitors and vendors.
  • Provide effective information, recommendations, and guidelines to show exhibitors and address all concerns and questions professionally and proficiently.
  • Work with show décor suppliers to execute accurate floor plans in ExpoCad keeping the suppliers up to date with any facility, hall or booth changes.
  • Manage the logistics of the Show Office before, during and after the show for both Toronto and Alberta. 
  • Liaise with Exhibitors, the Show Management Team and Vendors ensuring the successful resolution of any operational issues.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong verbal and written skills and the ability to interact professionally with peers, technical experts, suppliers and executives.
  • Must be able to work independently and with equal ease, be a collaborative team player with a high degree of initiative, drive, accountability, judgment and flexibility.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ExpoCad and experience working with complicated databases and contact management software/programs.
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours during show times: includes weekends.
  • Travel to the Toronto and Edmonton shows is required.
