House of Koopslie

2016 Small Supplier of the Year

House of Koopslie designs unique headbands, which are handcrafted with soft and eco-friendly bamboo fabrics. The House of Koopslie headband was actually born by accident. While working on her line of children’s accessories, owner Monika Kupczak Ainslie came across the softest bamboo fabric and made a simple headband with a scrunch for herself, her mom and some friends. Customers soon started asking for them, so Monika handcrafted some headbands and headed to a market where no one bought any. Surprised and disappointed, she tried to clear out the unloved headbands by changing them up with a leather loop. That changed everything. Monika sold every single headband. Soon after the headband trend started going strong.

“I feel honoured and humbled to receive the 2016 Small Supplier of the Year Award,” says Monika Kupczak Ainslie, founder of House of Koopslie. “I started making my best-selling headbands in my home not that long ago and now House of Koopslie has grown into something truly great. I am thankful to have such amazing retailers carrying my brand. 2016 was definitely the year of the headband and the trend will grow in 2017 according to fashion designers around the world. I am really excited for that and cannot wait to show you what we have planned for 2017!”
